Unnecessary Expressions

Do I Look Angry At Him?

He Doesn't Make Me Angry - Just Looks Like It

“Take that frown off my face doctor” is increasingly becoming a common request clients are making nowadays.  In the past clients were more focused on the adverse affect that lines made on the face cosmetically but now increasingly more client are becoming concerned on the first impression they portray when meeting people.  A strong deep frown line (vertical line(s) between the eyebrows) is commonly associated with an angry individual.  Though the cause of the line is due to frowning constantly, it doesn’t imply that the individual is an angry or cross person.  Some people have a habit of contracting their frowning muscles even when their in a good mood, when their writing, studying or doing anything that may require extra concentration.  When any expression is done repetitively it becomes engraved in the skin. This is comparable to the palmer creases we have which are due to repetitive contractions of your hand and finger muscles starting from the time you’re a foetus.

Many professionals are now walking through the doors of London Botox Clinics in an attempt to achieve a neutral expression – that is having no particular line too visible at rest in the upper face but not having the face too frozen that would cease any expression whatsoever.  Our recent survey shows that most professionals who are having these treatments have jobs that require them to meet people, eg. sales, marketing, banking jobs.  Upto 40% of our new clients fall in this category with a constant rise each month.  Clients come from the complete spectrum of the

commercial hierarchy with peaks being at both ends.  Due to the current business climate a good percentage of senior level executives
are looking for new jobs and have realized the importance of their first impression.

How does botox achieve this?

Botox works by paralyzing the muscles you inject temporarily.  However, over time and with repeated injections the muscles gradually become weaker and the lines softer.  The amount of botox injected decides on how paralyzed and “frozen” the expressions in that area become.  Baby Botox Injections are becoming quite popular nowadays.  These are done basically the same way normal botox injections are done however in lower quantity usually so that you loose some expression but not all in a given area.

Patients nowadays are thankfully requesting natural looking treatments, sometimes it is down to the discretion of the practitioner as to whether they give in to the demands of the patients wanting a frozen look.

As the industry changes it is important that medical professionals undertake that will teach them how to achieve a natural look as well as a frozen look.

Thank you for posting this, it is very informative.

We find that our requests are one of three:-

    1. I want to be frozen
    2. I want to look natural, I don’t like that frozen look
    3. I want to get rid of all my lines (that they’ve had for years and this is the first treatment they are seeking) but still look natural

This is all that patients tend to ask for, a high proportion of them do not realise that they can achieve varying eyebrow lifts with botox injections and when they are shown the options tend to leave the choice down to the practitioner.

During a medical professional can learn how to administer botox to achieve 1 or 2 basic brow lifts. Depending upon the location of the training site depends upon the requests that the models have. It is refreshing to see that an increasing number of members of the public are requesting more natural looks.

    Great post – very informative.

There are additional benefits to this, too: New research has shown that, by decreasing our ability to frown and making us smile more, botox is actually good for clients emotionally and psychologically, too!

Take a look at our blog on this if you’re interested….
