Hi. Just my two cents… I’ve been using a derma roller at home for a few months now to get rid of my stretch marks. It did not get rid of them but has somewhat reduced their appearance.

I have to reply to Aurora clinic, the at home dermaroller is very safe to use and is only 0.5mm depth which is designed for home use and not clinical use. There are many other rollers on the market, aestheticare have a good package to offer and benefit from single use. There are other titanium rollers on the market which are cheaper yes and you can buy a special cleaning kit to re-use them on the same patient. However, as the purchase cost is so little in the first place it would benefit to make these single use only also.

Being cheaper doesn’t necessarly make a roller inferior to its rivals, you would need to trial it to make sure it didn’t cause too much trauma and stayed sharp throughout the treatment. We have found in our sessions that the genuine dermaroller does seem to blunt the further into treatment that you get which can cause discomfort for the patient. We are considering trialing the medik8 roller however, we would never advocate re-using any roller.

Does anyone have any experience using other dermarollers? It would be great to get some feedback on this blog. Thank you for posting it.

We do Dermaroller at Aurora Clinics (Buckinghamshire) and it really is a great product which can give fantastic results BUT don’t be tempted by cheaper variations on the trademarked “Dermaroller” and certainly don’t be tempted to buy cheap at-home varieties….Dermaroller is a very specialist treatment which can be potentially painful and dangerous without training and the right equiptment.

dont go for the low price….. verylow price will not get you a good quality titanium derma roller and it may damage the skin rather than helping it rejuvenate.

I bought this product one month back. The quality was so poor that I can’t afford. I returned it back to shop, but the shop owner refused to take back as I dont have the purchase bill at that time. I lost it. I am now sad about this. Where can I buy a good derma roller.

Im not to sure dermarolling is to effective…I had dermarolling performed by my personal doctor about 4 weeks ago and I have maybe seen 10% max..This is what I dont like.

you can’t buy it – we tried it but the pressure of air actually splits the skin – on the palm it is very painful afterward as the skin is very thick. haven’t tried it for underarms yet.
there are many variations of this device but all have the same purpose…they’ve been around for a while now.
