London Botox Treatments For Frown, Worry Lines, Crow's Feet & More

Lines & Wrinkles around the face develop over time and cause us to look older than we feel. The treatment we all know as Botox® (botulinum toxin) has been formally approved for cosmetic use to reduce these lines and exaggerated facial expression. Botox is used in over 2 million people in the US every year for wrinkle treatment and has been around for more than 20 years primarily used for medical conditions previously. It is safe, effective and quick with a few injections under the skin. CosMedocs' Specialists are dedicated cosmetic doctors that are highly trained from London in botox wrinkle treatment injection techniques using very fine needles that cause virtually no pain. Please visit the contact us page to find our clinic nearest you.

Wrinkle treatments are certainly not just for women. Women may talk about their looks more often, but men are concerned about there appearance as well. Why shouldn't they be? A man who goes to the gym; and cares about his clothes and personal grooming: Is a man that understands his appearance says as much about him professionally, as personally. During your consultation, our specialists, will be able to advise you on which wrinkle treatment is required to keep you looking young.

The eyes are known as the window to the soul, but they can also be a dead giveaway to the age of the person behind them. Problems with the eye area may even make you appear older than you truly are, or at the very least, tired or unhappy, even when you aren’t. Whether a drooping brow, excess skin on the eyelid, lines (“crows feet”) around the eyes, or “bags” or dark circles under the eyes, our CosMedocs has a procedure that will help eliminate your problem.

Eyebrow Lift

eye brow lift by botox injections
This is a highly sought after treatment which can give a re-vitalised appearance to any face.  It is important that this procedure must be performed by an experienced practitioner as the margin for error is small.  CosMedocs first assess the natural shape of the eyebrows and look for any pre-existing asymmetry that may require correction.  Then our expert doctor will discuss with you your preferences for an eyebrow slope and treatment will be planned accordingly.  Treatment is tailored for each individual client however, there are three main options as discussed below:

1.  Arched Brow    arched brow

2.  Flared Brow       flared brow

3.  Horizontal Brow horizontal brow

Different shape require different injection placement. During your consultation your cosmetic doctor will help you decide the best treatment for you as not all candidates are suitable. For example, candidtates with loose skin under the upper eyebrow are not suitable and should not expect the loose skin to be lifted with this procedure.

The way to understand how b.toxin lifts the brow is to recognise that there is a constant tug of war going on in any area of the face at all times. There are muscles that lift a portion of the face (the frontalis muscle of the forehead) and opposing muscles that pull it down (the glabella). If we inject muscle relaxant into the muscle that pulls the forehead and brows down, e.g., the muscle that lifts the brow effectively “wins” and this may result in that portion being lifted. In this example the eyebrows are elevated creating a “non-surgical brow lift”. It must be noted that the effects are not as dramatic as surgery or as long lasting.

Neck Cords

Neck cords can easily be reduced by paralysing a thin muscle under the skin with botox. Once relaxed the muscle does not contract to form the prominent folds that run the vertical length of the neck. Not all folds/cords due to muscle contraction and it is important to carefully select the right client for best treatment possible.

Botox For Wrinkle Treatment

This is the closest thing to a real miracle and instant gratification in the world of beauty enhancement.  Botox/Azzalure can be injected into specific muscles to temporarily relax them resulting in an inability to wrinkle the skin overlying the treated muscle and therefore a gradual elimination of the lines and wrinkles. Botox is only helpful for dynamic wrinkles, also known as "wrinkles in motion." It is not as effective on static wrinkles, "wrinkles at rest," but prolonged use of botulinum toxin (Botox) may help prevent wrinkles in motion from becoming wrinkles at rest.  For static wrinkles dermal fillers are best suited.  However, our cosmetic doctors will help you decide the best method or combination to help you get rid of unwanted lines and wrinkles.

BabyTox?

BabyTox method is used for clients wishing for a very natural result using a lower dosage that is more dispersed injecting small quantities in many areas. This is a very popular treatment for clients undergoing their first treatment or ones that work in the media/tv industry and would like to make sure that a natural expressions are always maintained.

Example of areas that can be treated very easily with a few small injections are:

- Forehead Lines
- Glabellar Lines (Frown)
- Crow's Feet (side of the eyes)
- Infra-orbital lines (below the eyes - subject to skin condition)
- Peri-oral lip lines (lipstick bleed lines - sometimes combined with   dermal  fillers)
- Chin puckering
- Nasal flaring

Wrinkles on the forehead most commonly appear in two ways: As vertical lines just above the nose, often referred to as “the elevens”; or horizontal rows across the forehead. The “elevens”, or glabellar lines, result from squinting, scowling, worrying or just plain thinking. The horizontal lines may result from normal animation while talking, or from holding the brows up with the primary muscle of the forehead (the frontalis) during times of stress, or just naturally. These lines are primarily the result of continual muscle contraction and can become very deep over time.

Headaches & Migranes
London Botox Treatment and Other Non-Surgical Cosmetics Center

MIGRAINES: Studies in the treatment of migraine treatment of chronic tension headacheshave shown a decrease in the incidence and severity of headaches for a period of 3 to 4 months after injection of Botox®, along with a reduction in the use of pain killers (Barrientos 2002; Mauskop 2002). Some people respond well after only a single treatment session, while others improve after repeated injections (Binder 2000; Silberstein 2000; Mathew 2002). Some physicians believe that Botox® may even change or halt the course of headaches (Mathew 2002).

TENSION HEADACHES: The efficacy of Botox® Injections in the treatment of chronic tension headaches is under debate. Some studies suggest positive benefits (Relja 1998; Schulte-Mattler 1999; Smuts 1999; Freund 2000). A recent study analysed the results of 271 patients with chronic daily headaches, tension headaches, or migraines, and found that Botox injections decreased the frequency of all headaches by more than a half(Blumenfeld 2003). Overall, 85.6% of study participants claimed their symptoms improved. Temporary eyelid or eyebrow drooping was each reported by three people; other side effects were minimal.

Backaches

Back-Aches: Preliminary studies have suggested that, in patients who do not find relief from traditional pain medication, Botox® injections are safe and provide local relief of low back pain without systemic side effects (unlike central nervous system side effects seen with other more traditional pain treatments). In a small randomised trial of 31 adults with low back pain lasting longer than 6 months, 73% of participants who received botox injections reported significant pain relief after 3 weeks (Foster 2001). More studies—especially larger, randomised trials—are necessary to further evaluate the use of Botox® injections. Although there was initially concern that large doses repeatedly injected into the spinal muscles could lead to muscle weakness, this occurrence has not been noted in any studies (Difazio 2002; Wheeler 1998).

What is Botox and how does it work?
Botox is a very pure preparation of a protein, Botulinum toxin type A. When small doses are injected into the skin, Botox  blocks the actions of the nerves that supply muscles thereby preventing the skin from creasing.  This has the benefit of reversing any lines/wrinkles present as well as preventing any new ones from appearing in the region treated.

How Is the Procedure Performed?
The procedure takes only a few minutes and no anaesthesia is required. Botox is injected with a fine needle into specific muscles with only minor discomfort. It generally takes three to seven days for effects to start. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications should be stopped seven days treatment in order to reduce bruising but please consult with your doctor before hand if taking prescription drugs.

How Is It Different Than Other Products?
BOTOX ® blocks nerve transmission to relax the underlying muscles beneath the skin. The effect is not permanent, lasting about six months.

How Is BOTOX Injections Different Than Dermal Fillers Like Restylane?
BOTOX ® is a protein that relaxes the muscles that create lines whereas Restylane is a filler agent that fills in the lines.  Botox is for more for dynamic lines which move or are caused due to facial expression.  Static lines / folds that are permanent can be treated by dermal fillers.

Are Botox Injections Approved By The FDA?

BOTOX ® Cosmetic was approved by the FDA in April 2002 for cosmetic use.

Are Botox Injections Safe?
BOTOX ® has safely treated a variety of conditions for more than 15 years.

Where Is It Administered?
BOTOX injections have been traditionally used to treat frown

botox testimonials
lines, forehead creases and crow's feet around the eyes.

Will BOTOX® 'freeze' my face and make me expressionless?
No. We will only treat the specific muscles that are responsible for your wrinkles, minimising any possible loss of facial expression in other areas.

How Long Does an Injection Take?
BOTOX injections for wrinkle treatment  take approximately 10 minutes to administer.  However, your total consultation time will be around 20-30 minutes.

Do Injections Hurt?
Most of our BOTOX Injection patients compare the sensation of receiving an injection to a small bug bite lasting seconds.

What Should I Do After Receiving an Injection?
No exercising or lying down for 3-4 hours after injections is recommended. Do not excessively touch / massage the area that was treated for at least the first 4 hours after injection. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours.

How Long Does It Last?
The effects last for up to four to six months.

How Often Should I Have Treatments?
CosMedocs recommend to schedule treatments about every four to six months to help maintain a consistent appearance in the first year. Then on treatment can be delayed by a few months each time as your wrinkles have become lighter.  However, your cosmetic doctor will be best able to make a recommendation that is tailored towards your personal expectations.

Where Does It Go After It Wears Off?
Because BOTOX ® is a natural, purified protein, over time BOTOX ® is slowly absorbed and processed by the body.
